Paul Haddad Dies Age 56


Paul Haddad, who voiced Leon Kennedy in the original Resident Evil 2, died at the age of 56 on the 11th of April. Haddad resided in Toronto, Canada. He stated on a YouTube live stream that he suffered from stage three throat cancer and had a tumour growing on one of his vocal cords, however the tumour was removed, altering his voice in the process.

Invader Studios released the following statement: 
“Paul Haddad, our dear friend and an icon among the Resident Evil community, has passed away recently,” the statement reads. “We’ve been truly honoured to have the chance to meet and work with such a great man and a brilliant professional that he was. Rest in peace, Paul... you will live forever in our hearts.”

Haddad was born in Birmingham, England, on May 20, 1963 but was of Iranian descent. He was the eldest of three children and went on to attend McGill University, where he studied acting. In 1988, he graduated from the National Theatre School of Canada, in Montreal, Quebec. While best known for being the voice of Resident Evil's Leon Kennedy in Resident Evil 2, he also did his fair share of voice acting for TV and film from 1986-2009 which included The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3 and X-Men: The Animated Series, most notably voicing Pietro “Quicksilver” Maximoff.
