Games Workshop Worth More than British Gas

Games Workshop has come back with a strength in the last few years. It has been announced that Games Workshop is worth the same as Centrica, the company that own British Gas. Centrica own an array of energy and utility companies across the UK and the US. 

Games Workshops Market cap currently sits at £2.088 billion compared to the Energy giant which sits at £2.096 billion. It is worth baring in mind that GW is but one company whereas Centrica is composed of many. 

Where will this gaming giant head next? Constantly expanding their miniatures lines, board 'games and computer games I don't doubt that they have plenty in store. 

Warframe: Tiny Captura

For this Friday showcase we have the work of Tiny. Their bold and beautiful Warframe Captura really catches the eye. 

The use of light and shadow is divine and leads to striking portraits. The almost comic book colours and intense lighting create an 80's cyberpunk fantasy that I do not want to draw my eye from.

Warframe: Lara Craig

The next feature in the Warframe showcase week is Lara Craig. A positive force in the Warframe community, she is a streamer and gamer with heart. 

Today we are looking at her fine Warframe Captura work, however across her profile you can see a wide variety of other games with photo mode from a wide birth of genres. 

Her use of colour, pose, position and framing is wonderful. Within just these handful of shots you can see a hint at the dedication that Lara has put into the game. Each Warframe has been personally customised and tweaked to her liking. Revealing how well the game allows players to make their Warframe experience their own.

CD Projekt Group is Europe's most Valuable Company

CD Projekt Group encompasses both CD Projekt Red and GOG, has now gone beyond Ubisoft and become Europe's most valuable videogame company. According to Gameplay Mechanix, CDP's market value reached 36.5 billion Polish Zloty (£7.174 billion).

Despite not having made a game in five years they are standing tall, while Ubisoft still continue to pump games out on a regular basis. Let us hope Cyberpunk 2077 holds up to the hype. 

Warframe: Doctor Carnage

The Warframe showcase continues with Doctor Carnage. 

His Warframe portraiture is sublime. Each shot brings with it a mood along with inspiration, not just for the sci-fi but across all forms of virtual photography. The lighting and scenes convey such emotion that one would have thought not possible on a faceless visage. 

From this I think other virtual photographers should be inspired. Anyone can shoot a person or face, but here we see a genuine display of personality and depth.

Assassins Creed Valhalla will be a Bit Bigger than Odyssey

Despite my previous disappointment in the announcement that Assassins Creed Valhalla will be smaller than Odyssey I remained optimistic. Now it seems rumours have been turned on their head and it may actually be "a bit larger".

Speaking to YouTuber Julien Chièze (via RockPaperShotgun), Laferrière said: "I would actually say in terms of range it is probably a bit larger than Assassin's Creed Odyssey. I do not have exact figures at this stage, but we have not only created the whole country, which is in this case England, but also a good part of Norway too."

Of course none of this is confirmed but we can dream.

Warframe: VP Vibrancy

I won't often showcase my own work on here but from time to time I do not think it hurts. Here is a selection of Warframe photographs from myself. 

The monsters in the game go neglected in most virtual photographers shots so I often spend time shooting the monsters of the game too. Plenty more of this to come every Monday on my Instagram page for #MonsterMondayVP

Both combat actions and emotes are useful for conveying emotion, slow down time and have a go at creating some dynamic scenes. 

The more Warframes in your arsenal the more you will have to take shots of. In four weeks I now have eleven in my arsenal, three I dispensed with. The seasonal events reward a Warframe slot, as does completing the solo quest The Sacrifice. Completing the War Within also unlocks some more cool photo opportunities, but I shan't spoil the surprise. 

You may not be able to take shots in game but the Captura mode gives you almost everything you could dream of. It is far more expansive than most photomodes and its free!

Quantic Dream Livestream: 25th of May

Quantic Dream will be hosting a stream on May 25 to celebrate the arrival of its new Twitch channel, with cast members from Heavy Rain and Detroit: Become Human. During the stream, the developers will showcase Detroit: Community Play.

Within this there is more than 150 polls that viewers can choose throughout the game which influences the way the streamer will play. The first introductory stream begins at 19:00 BST on the 25th of May.

Mortal Combat: Aftermath

Mortal Kombat 11 features a huge host of characters. For whatever reason Mileena has been held back despite her fame. In the new Aftermath expansion DLC she is said to make a return. Along with Kitnana playing patty cake with her sister we also see balloons and hugs instead of the brutal violence that the series is famous for. 

More exciting than this however is the addition of three characters and an extention to the story mode.

Will fans see her return anytime soon? Will they be outraged once again by this dangling carrot? Only time will tell. 

Warframe: Greatest Majeed

Today is my first in a series of Warframe showcases. Greatest Majeed was kind enough to take me under the banner of his clan when I started out again on PS4. Having played online with him a few times I can say that he is a generous and decent soul. 

Gaming aside I was astounded to see his beautiful gallery of virtual photography on Instagram. Each photo is epic in their scope and the protagonist shot with such power and confidence.

The tenno are captured in the majesty you would expect from a veteran clan leader. Regal and strong they make the perfect focus within the beautiful worlds around them.

Days Gone: Uncharted Horizon

Days Gone Week may have been and gone, but that doesn't stop players loving the game. Today we have the work of Uncharted Horizon. 

On her profile Caitlyn has a wonderful juxtaposition of serenity and sadness. Scenes of tranquil beauty are showcased alongside characters torn up by their internal and external struggles.

It is this that draws me to her profile. Not only are the shots well framed and considered but the tale behind each shot is evident. For more of her work check out Uncharted Horizon here. 

The Next Elder Scrolls is a Long Way Off

As most of you know I am a pretty huge Elder Scrolls Fan.  Having pumped 600+ hours into Skyrim, finished Oblivion to 100% and spent god knows how many hours in Morrowind, I was disappointed to see SVP's head of global marketing make this tweet announcement on Saturday when asked about the next release in the series:

"It’s after Starfield, which you pretty much know nothing about. So if you’re coming at me for details now and not years from now, I’m failing to properly manage your expectations." 

Bethesda's space-faring new project has no release date and is not expected to be anytime soon. Therefore it look like the next Elder Scrolls is still potentially years away. 

Red Dead Redemption 2: Emerald Rancher

The Emerald Rancher's work really evokes all of the feelings in the Red Dead Redemption series. The atmosphere is captured perfectly as well as the pace of life.

Raw emotion and long moseying journeys are both shot perfectly, allowing the observer to connect with that moment in time.

Whether it be the stagnant swamps, snowy mountains or the exchange of bullets every shot has a story. For more of her work click here.
