Tony Hawk Pro Skater Remastered

Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1 and 2 are coming back. Geoff Keighley revealed the game as an early 'Summer Game Fest' announcement. Both games are being remastered by Activision as well as adding features from the later games in the series, such as wall plants, lip tricks and more. 

Normally this game wouldn't tickle my fancy but it is said to included both a create-a-skater and create-a-park features. Players will also be able to share their custom parks online so everyone can get in on the fun. 

The game will feature original game modes as well as online multiplayer. It’s coming to PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on the 4th of September. Let us hope it has a photo mode as the game looks graphically amazing!

Horizon Zero Dawn: NotGarav

Today's showcase is the virtual photography of NotGarav. He chose Horizon Zero Dawn as it is what led him down the VP path.

Garav is a positive force in the VP community. Always supportive and positive to others he inspires me regularly. The framing of his shots is as divine as the mood he evokes within them.

Warframe Play it For Free Forever

Lately on Instagram I have been seeing a lot of negativity in the community, which is understandable given the worlds current circumstances. I am seeing a lot of comments about a lack of variation in peoples, feeds, boredom and that people are in a rut with no new games. 

Today I am going to throw out the suggestion of trying out Warframe. It is free to play on PC, Xbox and PS4. It has a delightful captura mode that gives you settings to shoot your character, scanned villains and friends in. That's right, your friends!  What other game allows you to pause the game play and all zoom around taking shots.

Not only can the game can be played from start to finish with your first weapons and Warframe, but the story is vast and expansive. I didn't even get to the end of the story missions until I was around 120 hours in. 

Also, In a recent earnings report (via Gamespot), Leyou Technology - parent company of Warframe developer Digital Extremes - revealed that the company is planning to "expand Warframe to more platforms, such as the next-generation consoles and other devices".  Showcasing that any progress you make on your PS4 or XboxOne will be carried over to the next gen consoles via your gamertag login.

Warframe has been going since 2013 and with each update brings with it mind blowing amounts of free content. The latest introducing ship to ship battles. Previous instalments added larger more MMO areas which hold unique activities and offer custom gear building as well as new types of equipment and weaponry.

For those that haven't heard of the game before, you play the role of a Tenno, an ancient race of warriors, who must explore various planets and moons within the solar system to purge evil and uncover the long lost secrets of the race.

At first the game can seem overwhelming with the huge depth of customisation. But if you take it one step at a time you catch up as you need to. Across all platforms it is still very popular, its free and sits somewhere around 44gb.

Rockstar Backs Alien War in GTA Online

The Alien War in Grand Theft Auto Online has been going on for weeks and now Rockstar is officially supporting the war and offering players both alien suits for free.

Over the last few weeks, the war between purple and green aliens in GTA Online has gradually increased. What started out as a small conflict between some players has become a full scale war between a huge chunk of the games player base. 

All over Reddit you can find subreddits dedicated to war, yet the event is completely fan made which makes it so much more special.

The Rockstar Games Twitter account tweeted yesterday that for the next week both the green and purple alien suits will be free to all players. In their tweet, they also reference the current conflict stating “Grab yours and join the fight...”

Assassin's Creed Valhalla will be Shorter than Odyssey

Assassin's Creed Valhalla will be shorter and smaller than some other Assassin's Creed games. I was pretty downhearted to read this news, but many complained about the "bloated nature" of Odyssey compared to the more compact Origins. Personally I loved the more epic scope and did not mind the game taking 128 hours to finish. 

Like many though I would agree that the Atlantis DLC was painfully slow and padded out. 

The decision was revealed by Ubisoft Middle East head of communications, Malek Teffaha on Twitter (as translated by VG247 and confirmed by IGN): “FYI, it won’t be the longest or biggest game in the series. They addressed criticism on this one."

Hopefully this will mean the game still stands at 40+ hours to finish everything like Origins. I remain optimistic. 

Second Extinction Launch Trailer

Microsoft have upped its game with this launch trailer for a potential PC/Xbox X exclusive Second Extinction.

Second Extinction is a three-player cooperative shooter where you have to wipe out mutated dinosaurs. Teamwork will be key as you choose your survivor, use different combinations of weapons and abilities, and take on a vast number of enemies.

The game play trailer debuted at Microsoft’s Inside Xbox 2020 event, alongside a number of other titles.

Cyberpunk 2077 Gets a Mature Rating

As most of us know Cyberpunk 2077, the hugely anticipated sci-fi game starring Keanu Reeves set to be released later this year, has been given a seldom given “Mature” rating by the Entertainment Software Ratings Board.

The game boasts plenty of reasons for such a rating, as it contains: “Blood and Gore, Intense Violence, Nudity, Strong Language, Strong Sexual Content and Use of Drugs and Alcohol.

Alongside the rating, the ESRB also provided a written explanation for the decision, detailing some of the game’s specifically adult content.

"Players can select a gender and customise their character; customization can include depictions of breasts, buttocks, and genitalia, as well as various sizes and combinations of genitals.

“Players can encounter events where they have the option to engage in sexual activities with other main characters or prostitutes. These brief sex scenes (from a first person perspective) depict partially nude characters moaning suggestively while moving through various positions.”

The report also specifies the depiction of drug use, including amphetamine and a “state-altering inhaler”, as well as a quest in which ”players assist a character by hammering nails through his hands and feet; screaming sounds and blood effects accompany the scene.

The game is being developed by CD Projekt, the studio behind the Witcher series, which also boasted plenty of flesh and violence. Cyberpunk 2077 is due to be released on the 17th of September 2020.

DOOM Eternal DLC

DOOM Eternal has been held by many as a must play experience. Those fans and many more of you will be pleased to see that it is only going to get better with two incoming DLCs planned for the near future. Developer id Software has released two new screenshots which provides the atmospheric settings of whats in store for the Slayer.

Along with these locations we can expect to see new enemies, boss fights, and suit upgrades. I'm hyped for it and I hope you are too. 

The Last of Us Part II Trailer

Now with its new release date confirmed and development of The Last of Us Part II complete, the launch will be on June 19, 2020. Above is the launch trailer for the horror epic. While below we have a few words from the games director.

May the 4th be with you! Today is the Star Wars holiday and it comes with a new update for Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. The free patch adds a new game plus mode, combat challenges, additional cosmetics, and a host of upgraded accessibility options.

Lots of games allow you to carry over abilities into a second play through, new game plus as its now known has been going on for well over a decade. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order retains aesthetic options. New Journey + gives you a chance to play through the story again with all the cosmetics you’ve unlocked. In the update is also a new Inquisitor outfit as well as the much coveted red lightsaber crystal and hilt designs based on the ones offered at Disney parks.

Cosmetics aside the main bulk of this update is in its new Meditation Training mode, which features several combat challenges against waves of opponents. The battle grid will also give you an opportunity to face off against a wide range of enemies such as Cal’s mentor Jedi Master Jaro Tapal and even Inquisitor Cal.

I know this update has made me dust off the game and hopefully it draws some of you back in too. Happy snapping VPs!

Red Dead Redemption 2: Gaming Turtle

Gaming Turtle is one of those virtual photographers that goes from strength to strength. Over the time I have followed her she has refined her look and tastes in what she shoots and developed her own style. 

Her latest nature photography in Red Dead Redemption 2 drew my attention and led to this showcase. 

Despite not having a high spec PC or a newer console, she manages to work wonders with a standard PS4 in bringing the scenes of focus to life.

Fallout 76: Atom_X

Today we have the wonderful work of Atom X. I first came cross Atom when he was prolifically shooting Skyrim. At the time I was solely shooting that game and his work inspired me. The softness of his shots and the dreamlike qualities really set the scenes.

Now he shoots a wide plethora of games but I decided to make his first showcase on here Fallout 76. A game despite its poor reception does have a rather large dedicated fan base. 

As you can see from these shots, Atom is not afraid to change the focus of his subjects or experiment with different styles of photography. I hope this work inspires others out there to try their hand at something new and bold. To see more of his work check out his Instagram page here.
