Fall Guys Auction for Charity hits 1 Million

Fall Guys developer Mediatonic launched a charity auction last month to determine the sponsor of a new in-game cosmetic. After a rather long winded battle of bidders, four front runners came together to place a winning bid of $1 million (£745,000).

Ninja famous for his Halo 3 esports participation and in more recent years Fortnite, announced that he had "decided to team up" with YouTuber Mr Beast, esports organisation G2 Esports and in-game analytics provider Aim Lab, who had temporarily held high bids in the auction, for "a combined donation".

Mediatonic also confirmed that the four parties will each receive their own skin, stating that "we'll now sort out the donations while out artists start to collab with the winners on their skins".

All four parts of the bidding team will continue to stream and raise money for the UK based charity Special Effect who help people with disabilities access games.

"Our work is transformational and unique. Our team of therapists and technologists are determined that everyone, whatever their physical disability, should be able to share the fun, laughter and inclusion that video games can bring.

From controller mods to voice and switch controls, all our customised gaming setups are designed to suit the very specific individual needs of each person we help."

Plat Runner 08: Fall Guys

Fall Guys for all of us with a PS Plus membership was a free delight. While it may still be having teething problems Mediatonic expected, at a best case scenario to have 100,000 users on at once and at day one the PS4 had 300,000. Servers were unstable and it was near impossible at times to get a game.

Despite this Fall Guys is not only a real joy to play but the perfect battle royal game for all ages. It is cute, fast, fun and rewarding. The customisation is perfect and the trophies for the most part attainable.

So far only a handful of people have the platinum, a platinum of which I shall probably never attain. However those that have achieved the hardest trophy: Infalillible say that it actually was not too bad.

Infalillible How to Guide:

  • What you need for the unlock is win 5 games in a row.
  • After the first win all you gotta do is leave the game before getting eliminated so it doesnt count as losing.
  • Then just win the last 4 games and you are done.
  • Beware there are some game modes that can be very hard to leave before getting eliminated like jump club or jinxed.
  • Only go for the most comfortable starts.
  • Also you can have your party members sabotage others so you have better chance of winning.

As far as getting all the trophies in the game as fast as possible check out the advice from Antivist, self proclaimed no-lifer, who has already done it all.

For those of you attempting this long road I wish you the best of luck. Sooner is better for the Platinum as the longer you leave it the better everyone will get at the game.

PS Plus: August

August is going to be a great month for PS Plus members. For the first time since getting a PS4 I am hyped for both games. The first is Devolver Digital's new game: Fall Guys, which releases on PlayStation 4 on 4th of August. It will be available on to download and keep for free for all PS Plus members on launch.  Fall Guys was previewed at the Devolver Expo and is a blend of Its a Knockout and Takeshi's Castle of an online battle royale genre. As it is a launch title everyone will be on a level playing field which is nice.

If this isn't your kind of game then perhaps the remastered Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2's campaign is your thing. Arguably the best instalment in the series the remaster not only looks beautiful but has been made easier and more accessible. The checkpoints are more generous and the harder sections of the game have been toned down a little. And the best news is that this is available to download today!

I cannot wait. In three days Xbox users will also get news on the Games with Gold, so stay tuned.
